Testaments Of Success and Failure in my Life (My Story)

” Failure will never Overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough.”

It was extremely difficult for me to choose one particular object thats close to me .After a couple of sleepless hours i tumbled upon an idea on choosing some objects that forms the base of my life.So here i am today sharing with you all the story of “Testaments of Success & Failure in my Life .

“Story dates back to my childhood when i was a LKG student .Its Rightly said that ‘Mothers play the most important role in shaping the future of the next generation’. My Mom is very close to me and even today she can sense a bad day just by my uneven breathing or a ‘Hello’ over the phone call sitting 2000Kms away from me.For all the mothers in the world their son is the best and its true in my case as well but in a contrasting way .

Testament of my 1st failure in Life (Rs.1 Coin)

One day Papa was not home and mom amusingly asked me

” Would you be able to get me 1 Kg Potato from the nearby market ”

:- ” Why not but i do not have any idea about the Price ”

” Dont Worry i would tell you the Price ..its easy and i am sure you would be able to do it ”

I finished veg shopping and kept the change in my pocket and jumping around returned home rolling my hand like a marry go round .I handed the item to her happily and before i was about to leave noticed that i just have a Rs.1 Coin left in my half pocket.If there is one person in my life i fear the most that has to be my mom .I was not liking her constant stare at me and wanted to leave but could not as i could sense a volcano coming towards me .

“Where are the remaining balance and what did you do with rest of the potatoes ?”

I realised that remaining change and rest of the potatoes fell prey to my roadside adventure when i was jumping and moving the potato bag 360° while carrying out the marry go round stunt on the way back home.

“You Cannot manage even 1Kg of potato and could only save Rs.1 ,You Careless fellow,You would not be able to do anything in life

(In an Angry tone shouting at the top of her voice venting her anger )

My Favourite time in the day is when i have a conversation with her and as usual she always taunts me and i love that … not always but mostly .She often tends to say the opposite things she wanted me to do like “Leave all the Qs in the exam,Bang your down on the road,Bring atleast half the veg home,Eat Junk Food etc etc …

That was my first failure in my life .Call it fear Psychosis/Reverse Psychology as termed by my Father she is always like that with me probably because my Parents lost their 1st born baby (girl) ,could not bring her home post birth as she died due to Pneumonia and i was a 7 (1/2 ) month born and survived fighting against chilling winter against all Odds.This (Rs.1 Coin ) always reminds me of my first failure and prompts me to be responsible in life.

Now moving towards the other side of the page that changed my life forever.I belong to a average middle class family and got my initial primary education in Hindi Medium.

‘Spoken English was foreign to me’

With a bright future in mind like all my parents wanted to enroll me in a English medium Convent school.Finally after tiring efforts i got admitted in a english medium school.It was about 14kms ahead of Jammu City located on the uneven low valleys in the trikuta Hills and River Tawi flowing on the other side.

After some time our batch was camping in Pahalgam (during May) and i got a chance to represent my school at the State Level Debate Competition .

Now most of you would be thinking how did i ,who belong to a Hindi medium background get this offer ?

There were two big reasons behind it

1. The Proposed speaker was unwell ,hence could not participate in the event.

2. The more important reason “my House master who also happebed to be our English HOD saw me more often practising speeches backstage trying to emulate the speakers during co-curricular competitions in bygone years and noticed me reading out my lessons loud multiple times just to improve my spoken english after the ‘Black Batch’ Incident hit me.

There was a norm/tradition followed in my Primary school.We could not speak in any other language than ‘English ‘ during our Class hours .If anyone found speaking in any local/native language would be awarded with the Black Badge.

I got the rare previllege to be the first from my class to receive the Black Badge which i had to wear in my White School Uniform through out my class hours for one complete month and was subject to humiliation and introspection within.

I had only handful 1 (1/2) days to prepare for the competition.After spending a sleepless night i completed my draft for my speech to be presented during the syposium.I Practiced it thoroghly by taking rounds (from My Camp field to the Bank of River which located near by ).As If fresh air and the cacophony of the flowing water of Lidder River were giving me the extra strength and motivation to succeed.While all were sleeping in their Army Colour sleeping bag peacefully ,i stood infront of the hall mirror to practise my first speech.

Next day was D Day ,Participants from 20 schools across J&K Participated in the Debate competition and i could not believe my ears when i was announced the winner.I bagged the first prize and was awarded ‘Rs.100 Note’ as a token of appreciation and a ‘Dinner with the Chief Guest ‘ himself i.e. Brigadier of Indian Army . I was over the moon and could not resist my happiness.My House Master shared my story with the officer and he told me ,Always remember ‘CAN DO IT’.

Whenever i am down in my life ,this ‘Rs.100 /- Note ‘ reminds me of my 1st success in my life and motto of ‘CAN DO IT’ to overcome all my adversaries and succeed in life.

I can write whole day on this but would put my pen down saying

” Success is not FINAL,

Failure is not FATAL ,

It is the courage to continue that Counts ”

This is the first biggie of 2019 starring very Versatile and Natural Actress Kangana Ranaut Playing the role of (Queen of Jhani).It is a Period War Drama based on Rani LaxmiBai,her love for motherland India and her brave fight against the British Rule that ignited the flame of Independence in India and are part of Folklores.If Trailer is anything to go by Kangana has hit it out of the park and can become first Blockbuster of 2019.

 

2. Kesari (Battle of Saragarhi) – 21st March 2019 :-

It has been years we have seen Superstar Akshay Kumar in a Commercial Action Film.He has offlate become the social messenger and mostly giving films that are subtle,light but high on Social Messages.A Glimpse of him in a Action avatar In #2Point0 although in a negative shade did record breaking business in Bihar,Delhi Up,Raj,East Punjab,CI Circuits.With Kesari based on the Battle of Saragarhi (Bravest Battle fought in History between 21Sikhs and 10000 Afghan Soldiers) and Akshay Kumar playing Hav.Ishaar Singh (Leader of the Troop),Audience specially in North India would go berserk and Bring Havoc in Theatres.It also stars Parineeti Chopra and Tv Fame Mohit Raina (Devon ke Dev Mahadev) ,Directed by National Award Winner (Jatt & Juliet Series,Punjab 1984 fame) #AnuragSingh who has to his credit Top3 highest grosser of Punjabi Cinema.Its the biggest Project of Dharma Productions till date being Helmed by Karan Johar and Co Produced by Akshay Kumar.Its already giving fans sleepless nights and might be the silence before the storm as its first Teaser is soon to be released anytime soon .It might mark First 200cr Blockbuster for King of Masses AkshayKumar as #2Point0 Hindi fall lil short of 200cr nett in India when it Hits the big screen this Holi (21st March 2019).

 

3. Tannaji (The Unsung Warrior) 22nd Nov 2019 :-

Taanaji is the story of the Subedaar of Chattrapati Shivaji who played main role in Foundation of Marathi Empire.It stars the versatile Superstar Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan in Negative role opposite him.It is being Directed by National Award Winning Director Om Rawat .One can expect a lot of fireworks at the boxoffice .This Period Drama would include a lot of War Sequences and heavy VFX .If made well it can be another 200Cr Film this year.Its poised to release worldwide on 22nd Nov 2019.

 

The other two Period war films are #Panipat starring Arjun Kapoor,Sanjay Dutt,Kriti Sanon and directed by Ace Filmmaker Aashutosh Gowarikar who made #JodhaAkbar in the Past and another being Multistarrer Biggie #Takht to be Directed by Karan Johar featuring Ranveer Singh,Alia Bhatt,Vicky Kaushal,Kareena Kapoor,Bhumi Pednekar,Jahnvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor which is Based on Battle for the Throne .While the former is schedule to release in Dec 6 this year later would release in 2020.

2019 could be the biggest year for Bollywood as it has 10+ big Budget Movies lined up for release ,Audience are in for a treat as they would have a plenty of options and finally get Big Screen adventures that would be worth their money and time.

2018 shows How Content is Supreme and Superstardom coupled with Festival Release is no more a Safe Bet at the BoxOffice #Race3 #TOH #Zero #EDX

Gone are the days Of Late Rajesh Khanna or Amitabh Bachchan in 80s when Indian Audience used to flock to theatres to watch their Superstar movies just to have a Glimpse of them on Big Screen.In Today’s Time Indian Audience taste has developed a lot and with the Social Media Boom WOM (Word Of Mouth) spreads like Wild fire within couple of Hours in the Cities A Centres or a Maximum 2-3 days in the Rural Interior B and C Centres.

Nobody is Ready to spend their Hard Earned Money on Something that they do not like.Today an ATP (Average Ticket Price) all Over India is almost Rs.150/- with Cities Ranging from 200-300/- on an average ..with Single Screen in Interiors ranging from 60-130/- .Day by day Number of people watching Movies in Cinemas is decreasing.We hardly get to see a Couple of 2Cr+ Footfalls in a Year..as compared to 3-5Cr+ Footfalls for Festive Blockbuster films in the Past.

Nowadays Big Superstars have become very selective and Business Minded and does limited films in a Year. Most of them are involved in Production or Profit sharing which sends the Actor inside them take the backseat and Producer/Marketing Genius inside them Pull the Trigger in most times.They would come once in a Year sometimes..in 2/3 years to increase the Exclusivity Factor and release their Movies only in Festivals #EDX (EID,Diwali,Christmas) as Families Comes in Hoardes during this time ensuring Good Moolah at the BoxOffice..Coupled with Superstar Heroines,Increased ATP (Average Ticket Price) and Widest release .This helps the film to get a Excellent Opening but film falls flat after the Weekend .

2018 saw the release of Race3 (EID), ThugsOfHindostan (Diwali),Zero (Christmas) .Salman Khan is the Darling of Masses and has got Big HITS on EID since 2010 but his last two Eid release (Tubelight in 2017, #Race3 in 2018) proved to be Disasters at the BoxOffice inspite of Excellent Opening.Aamir Khan’s #ThugsOfHindostan was Biggest Bollywood movie till Date with a Budget of 250Cr+ released in Diwali managed a Blockbuster Opening of 50cr All India but was declared a Disaster after the Opening day.Distributors and Exhibitors were in a shock and lost their Lifetime Deposits and many went Bankrupt.

Zero was expected to be a Blockbuster from the word Go.It was the Combo of Superstar Srk with Anand L Rai (Director who got to have the Pulse of Middle Class with Ranjhaana,Tanu Weds Manu,Tanu Weds Manu Returns).It had an excellent trailer with some good Songs with Srk in his Elements (showcasing his Romantic moves in Mere Naam Tu) and Quirky Desi Dialogues evident in (Dialogue Promos).With Srk due to give a Universal Clean HIT since Chennai Express (2013) ..this was meant to be that film.It was released in 4400 screens in India with ATP being on the Higher side and Christmas festive release..Expectations were high.According to the Early Reports #Zero is getting Mixed WOM (Word Of Mouth) with everyone appreciating Srk’s Performance but Panning the Weak Screenplay and tagging it as the Worst Film of ALR.It got a Good Opening of 20cr+ but with Mixed WOM it seems a lil below expectations and might go down after the Christmas festivities are Over.

2018 speaks loud and Clear Audience are ready to shell out Money if Content is good and stay away if Content does not match their taste.Public lapped up High Concept films like #BadhaaiHo , #Raazi and #Stree among them being Universally Accepted across all regions.They showed they would come in hoardes if its a Good Entertainer like SonuKeTituKiSweety .With No Surprise Man of All Seasons and King of Versatility Akshay Kumar being the only Superstar who Reigned Supreme again this year who had a Blockbuster 2.0 #2Point0 (brought back his Masses) and Hits in the form of #GOLD which was a Clash and #Padman which did decent business made on a small scale and brought a big change and started a social Revolution in the country.With few Gem Filmmakers prove they still have the Pulse of the Audience like RajKumarHirani Proved why he Cannot go Wrong giving Ranbir Kapoor his Biggest Blockbuster in #Sanju and SLB (Bhansali) giving Most Controversial #Padmavat to Ranveer Singh who is on a Golden run with people yet to see if he Performs the same with soon to relaese #Simbaa without a SLB.

With the advent of Digital India..Nowadays Public has handsfull of choices in the digital arena which gives them high Entertainment value and For Stars to bring Audience in to spend their Hard earned bucks you need to give them Something different that is worth their money and time.
